Police clash with lawyers – the video

by | Feb 10, 2008

Here’s some video I took of yesterday’s violent confrontation between Pakistan’s police and its lawyers – a clash in which there were 12 arrests and 30 injuries.

I haven’t had time to do more than sew a few clips together – but you’ll see the police preparing to break up the demo, as the call for prayers rings out; a round of tear gas being fired towards the demonstrators, only for them to throw it straight back, sending police scattering in search of clean air; the police beginning their charge scattering the crowd; besuited lawyers throwing stones at the police; uniformed police throwing stones at the lawyers; a group of women demonstrators left unharmed by the police charge…

Enjoy!
