The movement for internet access can perhaps be compared to the free library movement in the 19th and early 20th centuries?

It´s good that the Africa borrowed all the Western technology, but I´m afraid that they borrow also our worries concerning the world. They are like our children, who ask themselves what is going to happen with their mobile contract if they die... http://www.financialcrisisforum.org/forum/Credit/... They certainly don´´t need to throw money on contracts and in the same time I don´t think they are ready for the kinds of trick people do using mobile phone, like that trick in which people ask you important data, like your debit card details: http://www.financialcrisisforum.org/forum/Credit/... Anyone can get your name and number online pretty much. If you don't know what it is and dont want it then just tell them you arent interested. If it's something you need I'm sure you can find a reputable company and contact them on your own, no sense in giving in to the first salesperson that comes along. Because you never know when it could be a scam.

Based on current gold prices that is about 417 million dollars worth of gold sitting in drawers right now. I personally think mobile phone is great they should do it with PCs and TVs I have seen lots of old computer monitors and TVs just thrown away its such as waste.

Yeah I think it's a great idea you get to help someone else or recycle the parts and make a few quid at the same time it works for everyone. I read the other day that every mobile phone has about 300mg of gold in it and Japan has over 200,000,000 unused mobile phones which equals about 10 tonnes or so of gold just laying around in drawers.

I agree with the above person, I have a couple of old phones in the draw, a Motorola V550 and a Nokia 1661, both very good phones and I'm thinking of sending them off to someone who is less fortunate than me. I'd have to unlock them first, ruddy Vodafone!

Mobile phones are very important to people all over the world, as a communication tool and status symbol. It is interesting to see how the Sierra Leoneans have adapted mobile technology to cover things that we in America or the UK take for granted.
