I live in United States and explore about my State generation of power supplies and found out the source as follows:
Coal 75%
Solar 20%
Nuclear power 5%.
What the Federal government needs to do is to involve Western World power generating companies and World Bank on this problem or else no miracle would ever make Nigeria Great and poverty would continue to ravage its citizens..
Last year, I traveled to Miami in Florida with my partner on Solar energy and was amazed on what we saw.
Lets join hands and leave slavery life of our corrupt politicians so that Nigeria could be great.
If it's possible in Ghana, Saudi Arabia, same goes for Nigeria because in United States, Nothing is impossible except God that we can't see with our eyes.

Raising our voices against the power situation in Nigeria would not solve our problems! Shouting alone, talking or protesting cannot solve or fix the epileptic power situation sorry epidemic we are facing in Nigeria. We need to come up with a solution and alternative that can easily kick out PHCN from business, environmental friendly solutions that can help the poor masses out there.
I'm presently working with an NGO, SMEFUNDS on a solar based project that would solve our power problems and empower the poor masses among us. We are presently looking for people that we can train to act as agents of change, create affordable solar based solutions and free themselves from poverty doing so. Join us in this crusade because this is THE ONLY WAY WE CAN LIGHT UP NIGERIA!

This is a goood effort. Only that it would not light up Nigeria today tomorrow maybe not even next year. But it would one day light up Nigeria. The root of the problem is governance. The quality of governance is totally appalling. Perhaps we should ligh up Nigeria for good governance then we may truly begin to see the light.

For any economy to grow it needs stable power supply,i think our president was totally wrong to have created a seven point agenda......all his needs to focus on is a one point agenda and thats ensuring there is stable power supply.....

now that we have startd raising our voices, the plan is to keep it goin. We must shout louder and louder until somebody hears us. not relenting and ready to do all that is necessary. Note that this is not a rebellion against a government, its a demand for a basic amenity that for over 50 years is still not at a level that we can say we r proud of. So much for giants of africa,we havent earned the name and we should stop living on past glory. The government knows the solution to these problems its just their pathetic frames of mind that has sent us into this darkness for too long. We musnt stop,we must keep spreading the word, with the resources we have, especially in our conversations with others and with the power of the internet. #lightupnigeria

The manufacturing industry will not grow until the power-supply issue is addressed, we will remain an import-dependent country, and cannot reach our potential.. We've been blessed with resources which we cannot convert until we have power. Business' drive the economy, epileptic power supply is killing them, new ones cannot thrive, old ones are packing up (see. dunlop). The use of alternate sources such as Generators, Firewoods, candles cause accidents (such as fire outbreaks) and pollution. The roads are not safe at night because there's no power to the streetlights. Traffic lights stay off half the time because of this as well, leading to increased traffic. My employers spend N3Billion annually on Diesel purchase, its hurts profitability & ultimately consumers suffer.. *sigh*

Its really sad, some parts of the country haven't had power for months. I know of a town in Nassarawa State that hasn't had power for over 10 years! This is unacceptable.
