The quick invite from Bush bodes well - hopefully he will turn as many keys as quickly as possible. Some of the mid level playersd may get to their desks before Jan 20th.

Arguably, there's a big risk for Obama that all the enthusiams turns into disappointment. But I totally agree with Stephen and I too believe that the change.gov site is a good indicator for what Obama is up to.

I believe (and have argued so) that we may see the emergence of open source government that seeks to profit from engaging directly with a large number of supporters. They may act as "word of mouth" activist that continue to rally support for Obamas policies locally.

And in four years, they will (hopefully) campaign for Obama again.

I have elaborated on this on my website (for those of you who speak German): http://www.danielflorian.de/2008/11/09/barack-obama-setzt-weiter-auf-das-internet/

The answer is being framed as we speak. The Obama Blog (mybarackobama.com) will continue and be the same rallying-point for the Obama movement as it was during the campaigns.

The new site change.gov is a place where anyone who wants to become an active part of the Obama government can apply for a job.

I imagine the media will do the rest, focussing enough on Barack that his essential reliance on a grass roots approach will become more and more the accepted and standard MO.

Reading through Obama's long held positions on issues will enlighten on the essential linkage between Barack and a large participatory base.

But that base understands that it is not the real base. The real base is all Americans and that if Barack's basic secret.
